October 2018:

Chepstow Mencap were over the moon to announce that their bid for Big Lottery funding had been successful – to the tune of £500, 000!!

With half a million reasons to smile, the goal is to refurbish the Old Board School building, opposite historic Chepstow Castle, to become our new Headquarters from early 2020.

The building will be a one-level centre for the community to access, including an externally accessible personal care facility that will be part of the national ‘Changing Places’ scheme.

The challenge now is to raise the remaining amount to add to the Lottery funds in order to complete the refurbishment – Chepstow Mencap has always been lucky to have enormous support from the local community, and we have no doubt that they will rise to this challenge of helping to make this dream come true for the people who use our services.
