Calon y Ddraig is a unique room which is part of Chepstow Mencap’s headquarters situated opposite Chepstow Castle. The building was completely refurbished in 2020 resulting in this beautiful community space.
The room has a high vaulted ceiling with exposed beams. It has a neutral colour palette to suit all tastes which provides a blank canvas for your event.
Ideal for parties, weddings, afternoon teas, baby showers, small concerts, fashion show or corporate conferences.
Bring in caterers or provide your own food, it’s up to you. Our licenced premises allow caterers to serve food in the front garden if required. If you wish to provide alcohol at your event, you can either apply for a Temporary Events Notice (TEN) from Monmouthshire County Council if you are selling alcohol, or hire in a bar to do all the work for you.
5 foot round tables, 6 foot trestle tables and 100 ghost chairs are included in the hire charge. The room will comfortably hold 80 seated around round tables, leaving room for a small dance floor. Total capacity due to fire regulations is 110 which should include caterers/DJ etc.
Kitchen hire includes use of crockery and cutlery and contains a plumbed in urn to provide hot water for teas and coffees.
Audio Visual system with projector and screen, 4 wireless microphones can be hired for an additional fee.
There is an 18 m2 demountable stage which is available if pre-booked.
